Volunteer Policy

VOLUNTEER POLICY Each school year, parents/guardians are asked to serve Parent Volunteer Hours. Volunteer Hours are a great way to meet other families, be involved in your student's interests, as well as experience, firsthand, why your volunteer support is critical. Community Outreach, Faculty Appreciation, Concessions, Library Assistance, Plays/Concerts, Baccalaureate and Commencement Rites, Safe Grad Night, Saint Paul’s Place, and many more programs depend on our JDPA Volunteers in order for them to be successful and available to your students.

Each family is asked to serve 20 Volunteer Hours. Families with single parents or sole guardians are asked to serve 10 Volunteer Hours. International Host Families are not required to complete Volunteer Hours unless they have a student of their own at JD. They are always encouraged to volunteer in order to meet other families and participate in any campus activities.

Volunteer Hour requirements for families entering JD after the school year has begun will be prorated, based on the school entry date. Parent volunteer opportunities can be found in a variety of locations: Juan Diego Parent Association web page, and www.parents.jdchs.org, as opportunities arise. Weekly E-blasts are sent to our parents/guardians every Tuesday, throughout the school year, listed under “Volunteer Opportunities.”

Please note: Parents who also have students in Saint John the Baptist Middle and/or Elementary School, should check the volunteer requirements of each school, which are in addition to the JD volunteer hour requirements stated above.
